In my first week of the second trimester, there was basically an entire turnaround with our lessons. The first thing we did was take a practice AP test. This ended up being very challenging, and I ended up not doing so well, but this was not something that surprised me. So we contemplated methods of taking the test, looked at questions that people didn't get and why it was that answer and overall learned more about the test itself.
After that, the class was given a list of books, all of which had been on the AP Test before. We had to choose two books from there and had to find some matching themes. Why? Because we were told that we would have to do presentations based off of that with 20 seconds per slide, which was a very interesting concept.
So the two books that I chose were Little Women and Ragtime, both of which I was familiar with and semi-familiar with respectively. I found that both novels touched on the subject of women, femininity, and gender roles, a topic that I'm already interested in, so I thought both of those would be great choices for my books.
After that, the class separated based on the likings of two different Shakespeare plays, and the one I chose was Macbeth, and I'm now working in a group with Sela, Isra, and Jessica. Although I still don't really know what it is that we're going to do.
My general understnading of this week would be a 4.5/5.
