This week was so far my worst week in AP Lit so far, and I’ll get to that, but let me start with the basics. The class looked at the poem Bright Star and I shall be completely honest, I was not a fan, I couldn’t follow it well, and neither could some of my close peers at my table which did not help. The lesson with the poem that I understood the most was finding a character or thing within the poem to relate to whether it be the speaker, the lover, or the star, but anything other than that had me lost. Since all of that was the case, I was rather grateful that we didn’t end up doing our essay on Bright Star because I would find myself having a panic attack over the topic.
As for the rest of the week, we managed to not have much class due to fog delay, cancellation, and a substitute teacher, so there were clearly some elements of class that we had not touched on. So, when it comes to our group presentation, I have no idea what exactly it even is that we are doing and I would very much love a thorough explanation as to what my group needs to do because that put two thirds of us into a lot of stress. So I guess this week is a ⅕ for me when it comes to understanding all of the material.
